Your cornea, which is the clear front portion of your eye that helps you to see, must be taken care of when you wear contact lenses. Otherwise, you can develop a condition of abnormal growth of the cornea’s blood vessels, which can lead to eye infections and complications. Before you place your next contact len over your cornea, follow these safety tips below.

Don’t Use Costume Contact Lenses

Some people like to have their eyes change different colors for special occasions such as Halloween, night out on the town, etc. It’s fun to have your eyes change to other colors like purple, yellow, or red or other types of shapes like snake eyes, dollar signs, and flowers. However, this could really harm your eyes. Color contact lenses have been proven to reduce oxygen from reaching the cornea. When this happens, someone can serious eye infections or complications. If you really want to have your eyes appear in different colors or shapes, talk to your doctor to get the proper prescription for these contact lenses. Otherwise, throw your costume contact lenses in the garbage.

Causes of Skin Cancer

The main cause of skin cancer is ultraviolet (UV) ray. It is an invisible energy which is generated by our sun that can burn our skin in a long period. Each year, there are increased cases in skin cancer in USA. The most common skin cancer is non-melanoma skin cancer, also known as Squamous Carcinoma and Basal Cell Carcinoma.

Too much exposure of ultraviolet can cause damage on our skin DNA which functions to maintain the health of the skin by controlling its growth. There are two kinds of UV, ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B. It was once believed that UVB is the one which causes the skin cancer. However, recent researches prove that both rays are responsible.

Daily Exercise

You know the times when you get home from work all tired and stressed out? If you experience the time more often, it is a sign that you need exercising. The problem is most people tell themselves they haven’t got time, but this is just an excuse.

Follow the 6 simple steps to add exercise to your day.

  1. Walk instead of Ride: So simple yet effective, if you only have a 30-minute walk to get to your destination you should walk.
  2. Stairs instead of Elevator: Simple again, when at work walk up stairs it is much better exercise than standing in a lift.
  3. Allow time for exercise: If you allow just 1 hour exercising a day than you will feel the difference.
  4. Get a gym pass: If you have one the chances are you will use it. If you have a nearby gym, there is no reason why you couldn’t fit in 30 minutes a night.
