Go Heart-Healthy with Mediterranean Diet
There are many diets you can find from dieta Atkins to dieta Fricker, many enough to be practiced every day in the weeks of your life. However, if you have a heart problem, there is one diet which is considered by the nutritionists to be the best for you, the dieta mediterranea or Mediterranean diet. So far, this diet has been crowned as the top diet program which can give the great look and feeling to its practitioners.
The diet main menu consists of food with good fat such as almond, avocado, and healthy amounts of wine. So do not forget to at least check on these items next time you stop by in the nearby grocery store. It prefers to focus more on consuming more of those healthy fats rather than reducing to consume all fats and end up with no fat at all. It focuses on the fats that benefit to the heart. Those include Omega-3 fatty acids, Omega 6 fatty acids which are totally opposite types of fat in nature to those like cholesterol and trans fats.
The first list in Mediterranean diet is yogurt. It is considered good for digestive system since it contains antioxidants and acidophilus. Regular yogurts are fine for this diet, yet it is better to have two percent yogurt. And even though eggs and dairy products are all fine for Mediterranean diets, the main emphasis of this diet is on fruits and vegetables. Avocado is always the best, not only that its fat is totally harmless to heart, but it also has vitamin E for the skin. Margarine replaces the butter and cream.
White meat from fish is also preferable than red meat. Salmon would be the best choice for this. However, this doesn’t mean that other seafood is not good. Shrimp and trout are welcome to be your seafood of the day with this diet.
More than everything else, olive oil is the most common representation of Mediterranean Diet. Not only nutritionous and has high level of unsaturated fat, it also creates excellent flavor and taste to all of the food which use it. There are some data too to show that olive oil contains a good amount of antioxidant which is good for heart and reducing cholesterol.
Last but not least, portion does matters. All that is too much or too less will blow everything. Match your meal portion with your activity and you get your diet successful.
